Guest Bath inspiration found!
Mar. 30th, 2007 01:27 pmSo yesterday I find a gift card to Kohls in my apartment that I totally forgot I had. I don't generally shop there because they are pricier and their selection for stuff I look for is not what I would want.
But I figured I might as well go look and see what they had in their bed and bath department, cuz maybe I would find the inspiration for the guest bath that I have needed.
Now, my philosophy on bathrooms - if you decorate them, they should be one of two things: elegant or whimsical. I'm already doing elegant (or as best as I can do) in two of the three bathrooms, and a guest bath allows for whimsy.
So I go and look and find the perfect thing. It will help tone down the harvest gold that is the predominant color in the tile, sink, toilet and tub, while accentuating the alvacaldo green that is in the accent tiles, tp holder and towel rack.
I find:

I picked up the shower curtain, two accent rugs, a nightlight and a wallpaper border. I figure this way I can pull out the green but still have punches of bright colors.
So the next step in that bathroom is pulling down the wallpaper and find the right colors for the paint.
On a side note, I've been talking with my car dealer and it's looking like I won't be able to get as much as I wanted for my van. Of course the "check engine" light came on after I take it to be sold. *sigh* I had hoped for close to $1,000 for her as that was only a couple hundred less than the blue book and I knew she needed work.
So, I'm also offering it up to people I know. It's a 1995 Olds Siluette. Green with tan interior. Remote starter. 125K miles on her. She does need some transmission work. Best offer I've gotten has been $500. I told the dealer I'd like more like $650 at this point. If anyone on my Flist would like her for $650 and is willing to come pick her up let me know.
