The optimist in me says "absolutely". The pessimist in me says "nope".

I'd like to think that people can change. There is always hope. But deep down, what I think is that the way we perceive people changes. The shine wears off. The preconceived ideas/misconceptions/even bigotry is revealed to be true or false.

But people do grow up. Experiences color the way we interact with the world, sometimes for good, sometimes for bad. I want to believe that true change is possible. If is wasn't we wouldn't keep trying rehabilitation, interventions, therapies, and what have yous.

Habits can be broken and therefore be changed. So why can't people?
