Ok friends,

I need suggestions for a GOOD comedy or upbeat movie. My last many movies from netflix have been stinkers or intense drama or action.

I need a laugh. And I'd prefer something I haven't seen in either ever or a long while.

Also, just FYI I do not like "stupid" comedy. I am in no way a fan of Will Farrel comdies (Anchorman, Taledega Nights, etc) or things like "Harold and Kumar go to White Castle".

But I'd love to hear your suggestions please

I'd have suggested Zoolander but that's kind of in the order of 'stupid' comedy. Although Stiller's a bit better than Ferrel. Night at the Museum's fun and cute.
Incidentally I was kind of disappointed with "Where the Wild Thing sare" myself :(

Laughter in Paradise. It's an oldie but a goodie. It has Alastair Sim in it, possibly in one of his best ever performances. It will make you laugh your socks off. It will also make you cry in places, but for good reasons. And it will make you think, but without ramming anything down your throat.

If you don't love it, I will be beyond flabbergasted.

"Cannibal Women in the Avacado Jungle of Death" (Trust me, it isn't what you think"

"Undercover Brother"

Salkind's "The Three Muskateers" and "The Four Muskateers" (The asides and "soto voce" comments alone are worth the time spent watching both flicks.

"Cecil B. Demented"

That ought to keep you busy. ;)

The Holiday, Kate and Leopold (OK, rom coms, but funny and upbeat). How to lose a guy in 10 days is pretty funny as well.
The Guru. Enchanted April - less funny but uplifting.
Hmm... I don't watch a lot of comedy.
Ah! Jeeves and Wooster. Anything Monty Python, Blackadder!

Try "Down With Love." I picked it up for Toni, and she loved it. It is a very nostalgic return to the comedies of the early 60s (and takes place in the early 60s).
