2021 Reading Challenge: a book found on a Black Lives Matter reading list

My rating: 5 of 5 stars
I fully admit - I'm one of the white people who experiences white privilege. Despite being female, I'm white - somewhat middle-class. I am fully aware that there are things I have handed to me that friends of color do not. What this book really made me see is how systemic racism is in the English speaking white world - specifically Great Britain.
I admit it never really dawned on me. I mean I watch BBC America and see mixed race couples on the screen. I see a larger percentage of actors of color in the entertainment that I do here in the States.
But this book made me stop and think. Made me feel. I hope that my reactions to this book are what the author was hoping for.
And I know, I for one will try a bit harder to be more aware.
