to answer Hamish:

1: Name three things you genuinely miss about me.
-your singing. I always liked to hear you sing
-the way you taught classes.
-you are the only person outside of a chiropractor who can put my back together. I've lost count of the number of times I've found myself saying "I miss Hamish, my back hurts"

2: How did you make peace with your Mom's passing?
-I'm not totally sure I have. In all honesty I have a very good ability to put something troubling into a back corner of my mind, shut the door and forget about it. Of course usually the door breaks down at the most inconvenient times. I have accepted though that she is gone, even though there are times when I think "Oh I'll just call mom and ask her X" then realize I can't.

3: What is the best example of Chivarly you've ever seen?
-This is a tough one. I could name countless examples of unchivalrous behavior, but examples of Chivalry are actually few and far between.

The one thing that does stand out in my mind was a Pennsic 28. I was DoD at Public Safety (though it was called Security then). After troll closed a guy arrived having driven from Texas to get there. The King of Ansteorra (Kein) was called in to try to help the guy. While nothing could be done for the tired gentle from Texas, Sir Kein struck me deeply. How he got up at 4am to try to help a subject of his kingdom without being testy, nasty or pulling power trips. He was polite and in the end, he gave the guy money to pay for a hotel room.

I'm not if that's actually Chivalry but it is something that sticks in my mind.

4: What really makes you happy about being in the SCA
-My chosen family. These are the people I found in the SCA and have become a very important and fundamental part of my life. These are the people who held me together when my mother passed. These are the people who drove 4+ hours to attend an evening wake for my father when blood kin wouldn't drive 45 minutes. These are the people who keep me grounded (more or less). Without the SCA I never would have found them. Everything else is just accessories for that.

5: What is your all-time favorite song, why?

-I can't really give a good "why" but my all time favorite song is "Devil Went Down to Georgia". I love the beat, the story and the feel I get when I hear it. Though I have learned to take my foot off the gas pedal if it comes on the radio. 4 of the 5 speeding tickets I've ever gotten have been due to that song.

*Even though I've done this before, if you leave me a random quote I'll ask you 5 questions too.

grr

I have so gotten out of the habit of the lifestyle readjustment.

I blew my points today on lunch. Of course it was yummy and I'm not really regretting it, but it left me -2 before dinner. Yes I could make a golden mushroom soup that would be 0 points but it won't really keep my full until bed.

I know that's what flex points are for and all but it's still. Need to get better about this. Of course I still need to get exercise in again. Not this week. Soon though.
