Amazing

it took 40 minutes for the scrolling at the bottom of the TV screen to get through all the school closings. these are all closed in anticipation of the storm that's coming.

when i was a kid we never got closed for anticipation. We got closed for snow and the occasional wind chill but never "there's a storm that might be coming" Heck Sweet Home (my school district) rarely closed. the rest of the damn county would be closed but mine and the one my mom worked at always seemed to be open. Amazing the changes in 25 years.

we were the same with the added.. the bus driver had to be able to tell where the roads were.

sometimes 3 years would go by without a snow day and I lived in the snow belt.

But there were also no lawsuits over anything that happened to your kid, or to your car in getting the kid, or.....
Seriously. Enough lawsuits over the past 10 years that schools are extra careful even about getting the kids for half a day.
