I should know better

But I did it anyway.

I had to go to Walmart for NON-christmas shopping. I needed cat food, cat litter and rock salt. 35 minutes just to get into the plaza to find a parking space. 10 minutes to find what I needed.
25 minutes to check out. 45 minutes to get out of the plaza.

But Saturday before christmas is NOT the time to go to any store that sells anything remotely christmas present like.

I found it wasn't even a good day to drive by a store like that!

Sorry!

Oooh! *grimace* I feel your pain! The local grocery store was weird today. The parking lot was insane chaos, but the inside was oddly ... not. No lines even. The plaza where my bank is also has a Canadian Tire (think Kmart, but only the automotive, housewares, sporting goods and tools) and so was jammed to the gills. I didn't go to the bank.

There's a mall under most of the financial district here and I'm afraid to go there this week; all the type A procrastinators will be out in force, feeling entitled and frantic.
