We got out of work early. Yay.
I come home, park the van in the neighbor's driveway and trudge up to the house and pull out my Snowblower of Luv. I do two passes and *BOINK* one of the stupid wheels falls off.
So I finish up the little that had blown back in to the driveway since this morning, take the wheel and drive up to the little hole in the wall hardware store around the corner. It's a bit farther than Home Despot but I figured the guys there would give me straight answers. I know I just need a new pin for it.
So I take the wheel in, describe what is holding the other wheel in and they go "OH, it's a hair pin and spike. You don't want that. It will just snap and you will be back here getting a new one. What you want is this..." they take me over to the nuts and bolts, try various bolts until they find one that fits and say "This is cheaper AND will last you a good long while."
See this is why I go there for specific hardware assistance. I thank them and the one guy goes... "YOu better get a second one since the other side will probably go soon." and GIVES me the bolt and nut to have as a back up.
Wheel has been put back on with new bolt and spare bolt is where I know where to find it if/when the other side goes.
Now I'm home, thawing out and have plans to do nothing for the rest of the evening except work on a fun crochet project that I found and want to try. I doubt I will be awake for the ball drop. But so what. I'd rather sleep.
