There is no real change with mom. The neurosurgeon was in surgury all day today so we did not get to talk with him.
Terri and I have come to the agreement that as soon as we talk to the lawyer, the funeral home and any other details we need to make sure are in order first, we will let mom go.
I did speak to one of the unit nurses today on the phone and said that they should get the consent to limit care paperwork ready so that when we are able to say OK it is ready. She also told me that however we decide to limit care that they will ensure it is painless by giving her a morphine drip.
I will be going into work tomorrow Oh God Early and work until about 11:30. I'll call the lawyer and get an appointment to see him so we can discuss all the legal stuff we need to know. I currently plan on working early days and leaving by 11:30 so I have the afternoons free to deal with the necessary stuff without killing all my personal time. I have to talk to my bosses about that but I currently do not see how that would be an issue.
One positive thing we learned today is that it was good mom was so anal about paying bills immediately. We do not have to worry about paying the property taxes that are due by next week. She paid them almost a month ago. We found what looked to be a paid stub and the benefit from having worked at the Lawyer from Hell's office was that I knew the Town of Amherst has their tax info online so we were able to double check that yes it was paid. There is one bill, her credit card, that is due next week but we can afford the min payment for the month and we will pay that ourselves and deal with the balance with her estate then see about getting her name taken off and have just Terri on it (who is already on it now). And we found a bunch of bills that she had written out the checks for before all this happened (possibly the day before - I did not look at the dates on the checks) and stamped the envelopes. She just never put the bills and checks in said envelopes. We did and I will be putting them in the mail tomorrow. Since one is an insurance bill we are making sure that gets sent in before anything happens so that that bill is paid before she dies and her account is frozen.
I thank you and Terri thanks you for all the outpouring of love and support during this time.
To those who have all said "What can I do" I say, be prepared come good weather. I will be inheriting a house that will need going through (the house is full of not just Mom's stuff but Dad's stuff AND my grandmother's stuff. There is no room for my stuff to come into it. Also there will be "stripping wallpaper and painting" parties over the course of at least a couple weekends as I work to do things mom had wanted to do when she "got around to it" as well as small things to make the house mine. Not to mention the whole "I'm moving and will need strong backs" weekend(s).
But again, thank you all.

This is one of those moments when I find myself at an uncharacteristic loss for words. Please know that I am thinking and praying for you and yours at this time. Julie sends her regards and condolences as well.

As to the house, make sure you get the mold and the dander out before you move into it. Life will be better for you later on.
