The day after Thanksgiving tradition for me was slightly changed this year. NOrmally my sister and I head to the Galleria Mall here in Buffalo (for those who don't know it's the largest one in the area). We always do shopping, lunch and a movie. We aren't the insane types that have to be there at 4:30am. More like "the doorbuster sale is going on until X. If we get there before it ends AND the thing we want is still there great. If not, oh well."

But this year, the mall is expanding it's food court, off of which used to be the theater. Not the "used to be" part. They've torn it down and are building it in a new spot. And since the expansion has shut down the parking ramp, we decided to not do that mall this year.

I got up and was out by 7:30 and got to Wal-Mart by 8 as there were some things I wanted to get that sis didnt. I was very surprised. I've seen that walmart busier on a WEdnesday afternoon.

Eventually went and got sis and we headed out. Got to the two stores we wanted to hit before the doorbusters ended. Bon-Ton was the worst. But that particular store is a free standing one, no attached to a mall, is poorly laid out and understaffed. That the wait for checkout was closer to 30 minutes. everything else was in an out.

We ran over to the nearby mall, got a few things. Did our obligatory "act suprised" gifts that we end up picking up for each other.

Did food and ran to another store. Didn't get anything there but an idea. We however are going to wait as what we want to get Mom is a bit on the pricey side and if we get it, it will be the last thing we pick up rather than a few smaller things. We're going to wait until closer to Christmas to see if we find a sale, a better deal elsewhere or something. We aren't worried about them running out. Afterall, how many people actually buy coolers that plug into the car's cigarette lighter this time of year?

The movie this year was "Happy Feet". I enjoyed it. Though the social, religious, political and environmental commentaries were a bit strong, almost slap in the face. I'm glad it was matinee price and we didn't pay to see it on the IMAX. The best characters were the little latino penguins.

We actually ended the day back at walmart to check for a comparison on something we had thought of but wanted to do price checking else where.

All in all it was a good day. No crowds were real bad and we got most of the shopping for mom done. I'm almost done for Boogie. Just need Boo and Boss. And of course sis. But for sis I need a list.

Now I'm munching on gizzies, drinking a twisted tea and contemplaing an early night.

I have a nail appointment tomorrow. Thank god, I need it desperately.

Hope everyone else had a good day.
