Got the scarf started for the co-worker. We agreed to $25. I told her that if it were for an adult it would be more as they would be longer. She said that was fair.

It's Christmas time. Usually my favorite time of year. But this year I don't have the usual excitement. I haven't done anything towards making the living room ready to put any decorations up (which I usually do Thanksgiving Night). Normally I'm almost done with my shopping by now as well. But I'm not this year. I'm wondering where I'm going to get the funds to pay my usual bills and find gifts for people. I'm compromising and making a lot this year for friends, but I can't make everything for [livejournal.com profile] eternalmusings or [livejournal.com profile] dicea. Mom's pile is small this year and it's going to have to stay small. The last item sis and I have talked about getting her is mostly going to have to be funded by sis.

I've got to get back on the diet as well. I haven't really stuck to it since Pennsic. Noticing some articles of clothing are getting a bit tight again. Time to get back to "walking away the pounds" and being more conscious about my food choices.

Speaking of clothes... I"m ready for the waists of jeans to go back to "normal". I'm sorry, when the tag says "sits just below the waist" and they are actually below the top of the hipbones... that is NOT just below the waist. That is near obscene. Mid-rise are good. But when low-rise are being called mid-rise in an attempt to make them more acceptable... that's just wrong. I seriously can't find a pair of jeans right now that don't make me go looking for super long shirts or fancy undies because the undies are going to show unless I don't wear any (and that's not an option).

AFter watching Project Runway for three seasons now I've come to realize that the fashion world really doesn't understand that woman over a size 2 exisit. and that a size 2 is just not natural.

I used to think clothing was just OK when I was a size 18/20. But see.. there are designers for the plus size community. And there are designers for the microscopic community. But what about the nice healthy size 8-12? They just try to enlarge the stuff for a size 0 and think it's going to look ok.

Meh.

Ok, don't bitching now. For now.

target now sells levis... that sit nicely... and are alot less expensive... I just need to hem them (the joy of being short) but they fit nice and have a little strech to them... = ) I believe they are on sale this week for $16... normally $20 I picked up another pair.

I found a pair of midrise, stretch, bootcut jeans at Old Navy this weekend. They have a new line called "curvy cut" jeans that are for us, erm, somewhat more lower-endowed women. I'm 5'8" and some change; these sit just above my hipbones (and I'm shortwaisted, if that helps).

$20.

quiet, you! this whole low-rise thing has finally filtered into fatgirl clothes, and since my waist is apparently far lower than it should be, i'm finally finding pants that *fit*. if the regular waists come back, my belt will start holding my bra down and the crotch will bind my knees together. Not. Good.

OK... we can keep the low rise. But can we bring back the midrise. The CORRECT mid-rise? that's what works for me.

Oddly shaped women of the world unite!!!

Make the fashonistas realize that not everyone is built like a prepubescent boy.

there is absolutely nothing wrong with my shape -- what's wrong is that the clothing in skinny sizes is scaled up from a 0 or a 2petite, and fat clothes are scaled up from a freaking 14 TALL. it makes no sense, and doesn't take any sort of proportion into account because you and i both know that as the size of the body increases or decreases, the shape changes in pretty predictable, if significant, ways.
