Training: day one
Jun. 6th, 2005 09:54 pmSo today was day one of training the new girl. Must work to remember that her name is Amanda and not Andrea. Thats going to be the tough part.
In my first four hours at work I only got one contract out the door. Then at hour 4, the new girl arrives for training. Tall, blonde, leggy and I can't tell if she really believes taht that will get her through things or not.
I gave her a basic overview of what it is we do and where it falls in the grand scheme of things. Then explained how my supervisor thought it best to introduce her to one of our clients rather than all (makes sense to me). So I explain to her who the client is and stuff.
I begin to show her what is entailed when a contract comes in. Took her step by step and went very slow.
It wasn't until hour 2 or 2.5 that she finally asked for some paper (even though I offered it to her at the beginning) to take notes.
At least once she started taking notes she started asking questions.
this is going to be a very very long two weeks.
