Written for prompt_a_day's prompt: When I leave

When I leave

I will end up sitting in the car, running through my list of things I needed to do before I left.

Did I pee?
Did I turn down the heat?
Did I pack my toothbrush, my hairbrush, my little stuffed eeyore and a change of clothes?
Is my inhaler in my purse?
Did I leave enough food for the cats?
Did I make sure the bills were paid so that I have power, gas and cable when I return?
Is there enough soda and munchies in the car for the trip?

When the answer is yes to all I will put car in drive and head out to spend a glorious weekend with you.

But of course I will get to the corner and have to turn around. Because, inevitably I will realize I forgot one important thing.
