Things from the weekend
May. 21st, 2007 08:05 pmAs stated before, I survived the garage sale. All in all I did really well. For the three days I did just over $400.
Telescope got sold.
Stereo got sold
Real to Real Player from the basement got sold (I dug it out with Dicea's help on Friday night since one of the men who came on Friday said he was looking for one)
Buffet from the florida room sold.
Red wagon in the shed got sold.
1700 adult paperbacks got sold!
Good 100+ childrens/young adult books got sold.
about 100 records got sold
My old 13" TV sold
The red velvet swag lamp sold
The ugly glass globe swag lamp sold
the wierd crewl sun picture from above my parents' bed sold!!!
About 1/2 of grandma's glass and ceramics sold.
3 of the 4 bikes sold (my purple 10 speed is still here)
various other things sold.
I'm really happy with the amount of stuff that went. Would have liked more but hey... a good bit is gone.
I've already posted up the coffee mugs on freecyle and someone wants them, same with the teenage romance books.
Need to see about posting the workout bench and medical stuff on craigslist. Should also contact the Barony and see if the cooks would like the metal trays that I still have.
I got a bit too much sun on Friday. But now have the base start of my summer tan. Dicea says I look healthy again and my hair is starting to bleach out. I'll take her word for it.
Things I learned from this experience... I'm sticking to the pricing idea of "make me an offer". It worked really well for me.
Next garage sale I do I will cord off the base of the driveway and put a large sign that says "early birds will be prosecuted for trespassing". also will keep a cooler handy already packed with soda and sandwhich and stuff. First day would definately be helpful to have a garage saling buddy. I was rather overwhelmed by people on Thursday.
Gonna take the proceeds from the sale and use it to buy a carpet for the master bedroom. (That's this weekend's shopping adventure).
Sunday rather than do much clean up I went out with Dicea, Boogie, Much_ado and Matthew_G and did Zoo Bitchiness, Pho and Sushi. Had a great time. It was so nice to just get away for a day and relax and have fun.
Right now I'm waiting for the Weaselmass cake I have in the oven to finish baking so it can cool. Hopefully I can get it carved and decorated tonight so we can do Weaselmas Eve tomorrow night. Gotta find my cookbook too so I can make Weaselmas dinner as well.
