I went on my lunch hour today and checked out Home Depot "just in case" and since I had seen a commercial for $99 installation.
Nice guy helped me out, was impressed with what I knew and what I wanted. "you've done your homework" he said when I double checked that the materials listed was the fancy name for "recycled pop bottles". Duh. I'm not stupid.
Anyway I found one I liked and it came to $100 less than the one with the nice sales lady from Sunday.
Not wanting to be the type that jumps at a deal because it's cheaper, Dicea went with me both to Kenny Carpets to see what Ed and I had found Sunday and then to Home Depot to see what I found today.
She agreed that the Kenny Carpets one was nice and the customer service was really good and the color was pretty it just wasn't worth $100 that I really didn't have. She agreed that the one at Home Depot would be just what I would want and the color looked good with the paint chip I took to hold against to make sure the walls wouldn't clash.
So tomorrow on lunch I go back to Home Depot with a deposit and order up the measurement guys to come and officially measure the room. And then see when I can get the carpet installed. This means I have to get the room painted soon.
I have people coming Thursday night to pick up Freecycle stuff so I'll go to the Doma after work and while waiting for them, tape the windows and doors. See about moving the antique dresser out of the room completely so that this weekend I can paint and paint and paint and paint.
Once that rooms painted and we rip the carpet up, I can focus on my apartment and tossing and packing and moving.
The plan is still holding right now for the move to be the first weekend in July.
All helpers welcome. Especially those with vans, wagons, trucks.
But right now, I'm going to go become unconscious.
Moo all.
