Work was busy today. One of the girls in accounts is out for the week on her honeymoon. Wednesday another of the girls in accounts leaves for unknown amount of time for hip surgery. This leaves only one other girl in accounts. I knew this was coming and that I would be helping her. I print the post dated checks, verify funds, code incoming payments for posting and check for a few other things necessary for posting. The annoying part is due to the fact that I will not and cannot help post payments due to my numeric dyslexia. Luckily my boss Marcia, and the head of Accounts, Pat, understand completely and have been supportive of my stand. But this means someone else has to come in and help post payments. This someone is the receptionist. So lucky me gets to go cover the front desk for unspecified lengths of time so J. can go back and help post payments.

I'm getting tired of playing musical desks. I have access to my desk and my computer for exactly 1/2 hour every morning. This is because the computer assigned to me is one of two that has quckbooks on it. Quickbooks is needed in accounts for bookkeeping. We have a temp in right now to assist with the bookkeeping until the girl on her honeymoon comes back. She's been there since I started in the office. This makes for a rush first thing in the morning (7:30-8) for me to get 3 reports done as that is my only access to certain files that I need. Then during the day I work on a terminal that I keep getting moved off of because that one is the only one that has certain programs that My boss and one of the girls in Client Services (my department) need to use daily to report to our clients.

Meanwhile, while helping in accounts, trying to get my reports done, I got volunteered by the head of HR and the COO to help organize the companywide meeting for Friday. This meant calling to arrange for the auditorium at the ST office, make sure we have access to a powerpoint projector, confirm with Pat in Accounts that there is petty cash so on the way to the meeting I can stop at BJs and get refreshments for the entire office. The upside is that I used to do this in my capacity as Admin Assistant in the ST office. Only difference now is that I will get milage to go get the stupid refreshments. That and I am going to be allowed to leave earlier from the NT office than the rest of the employees there so I can stop at BJs, get the refreshments and get to the ST office and set up the snacks in the auditorium. Downside - I'm supposed to do all that Friday while helping accounts with payment checks.

I should have worked on a scroll tonight. I have an Alce and a Fleur due for Coronation. Need to have them done by Thursday night so I can get them to [livejournal.com profile] dheidre to take to coronation. [livejournal.com profile] dicea is working on the illumination for at least one. Have to check if she is doing both or just the one. Need to also get her ink and pen back to her that I borrowed for the scrolls that went out this past saturday.

My walk-through for my apartment is next week. I have just the kitchen/pantry to clean and touch up any paint as necessary.

I'm ready for it all to be over.

And it's only Monday.
