Last night saw me going up to bed early. Not to sleep so much as just relax, watch TV and just be. The bedroom is my cave, my safe space, my warm snuggly where I get to just be me and spend time with my animals.

Right around 9:30 power went out. It was off for a minute then came back on. But just as I was reaching to reset the alarm clock off it went again. I stayed in bed a few minutes before deciding that it wasn't coming back on anytime in the near future, banged my way downstairs and found my pennsic lantern. Took that back up and spent the next 2.5 hours reading.

Eventually I decided I might as well try to sleep. The operative word being TRY. See I cannot sleep in total silence. when I go places and sleep not in my own space I take a portable radio and that plays very softly next to my head. But unfortunately said radio is in the car, and with a bad wind and rain storm rolling through I was not going to brave going out just to get a radio. Also add to this that Grimm was not happy and growled, woofed and barked at every noise the house made as the wind assaulted it.

At 12:30 the room was hot and stuffy. With rain beating against all the windows in my bedroom and master bath I didn't want to open them to get some air circulation. But I know exactly where the fans for my pavillion are out in the garage. So I finally convince myself to get up and to go down and find the fans.

Just as my feet hit the floor, power comes back on. Reset alarm clock, found a nice program to fall asleep to on he TV and finally got some rest.

This morning I hear that the whole town where my office is is without power. So I'm going to go, take lots of books and see what they want me to do.

Yeah, interesting day it's going to be.
