I got a text at 1:30 this morning from the boss. Office is closed due to the weather. Stay home and be safe and warm. Don't have to tell me twice. I'll log into my work email in a little bit and do some stuff but I'm not going to argue a free day with my sister.
The wind finally stopped whistling and howling last night around 5:30am. when I finally did get up after sleeping in (until 8) I turned on the morning news that was just saying that the finally opened back up interstate 90 between Rochester and Buffalo and Buffalo and the PA line. So that means had I had to go to work today I would have to take regular roads and been even longer in the commute.
Today's plans include more shoveling (everything that blew into the driveway after we shoveled last night) maybe making some christmas cookies. If we do manage to actually get out of the house today I need to get over to the Girls' and check on the cats but that all depends on roads and the like. It may have to wait until I go to work tomorrow (give the plows a day to clear off the streets and hope their neighbor Bob shovels their walk). also need to get to the vacuum store as the belt that runs the brushes on the vacuum broke. Everything else on it works find just doesn't spin the brushes, which is a key part of actually cleaning the carpet.
Hope everyone stays warm.
