Tedious is as tedious does
Oct. 11th, 2009 02:46 pmI'm working on a scroll today that is due at Crown next weekend.
I had not originally planned on doing this particular illumination when I got the assignment but I was going through my scroll case not to long ago for something else and found a scroll that I had already penciled in the layout and thought it would work well for the persona of the recipient.
Only now that I'm actually painting it do I remember why I never got any father than penciling it. It's a tedious design to paint the background and the details are all fiddly.
It will get done but I find myself having my attention wander away from the painting quite a bit. So I'm actually applying a FLY lady technique. I work on the scroll for 15 minutes. Then get up and do something else for 15 then go back to the scroll for 15 then off to something else for 15.
It seem to be working.
I should bring my crochet down from the bedroom so that during my 15 minute non-scroll time I can work on my "son of sock swap" project. That is almost done as well and I hope to have it done for Crown weekend as well as I'm pretty sure that the recipient is going to be there and it would be cool to hand the gift off then.
