1-If you could give any one person any SCA award, who and what... and why.
This is tough. Usually the people I want to get awards, I tell the Royals and ask them to do it. And 99% of the time they agree and do it. There are a couple people who I would love to see get the Jewel of AEthelmearc. There is one person I’ve been starting to work on getting recognition for for a Laurel. I will not name names in an open forum like this but that’s the only one that if I sat the throne I would mostly go “I want this”

2- Tell me your favorite Musical.
I have to pick one? I loved Wicked and Avenue Q of the “recent” stuff to come out. I listen to those soundtracks a lot. But also to Assassins, Anything Goes, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat, Fiddler on the Roof, and Rocky Horror on my iPod a lot.

3- If you could change one physical aspect about yourself, what would you change? (taller, raven tresses, prefect teeth, or whatever).
Does ridding myself of all my allergies count? I’d love not to have to worry about eating something that might kill me, or walking past someone with too much perfume on and my lungs shutting down. If that doesn’t count, I’d like to be a little taller. 5’6” or so. Short sucks.

4- If David Bowie and Bonnie Raitt sang each other's tunes, which singer would you want to hear?
I prefer David Bowie’s voice over Bonnie Raitts’. And I think it would be fun to hear David sing “Something to talk about”

5- If Dicea was a man, would you marry her/him?
We are both rather staunch counter-traditionalists. Most likely we would end up living in sin until we realized we needed new sheets, towels, pots & pans and plates then only get married to have the showers to get the loot.

Ellis:
1. Has being in the SCA made you a better or worse person?
I don’t know if it has made me a better or worse person. But it has made me who I am today. I have more confidence in social situations that I did before. It has encouraged me to try things I never would have tried. And without the SCA I never would have met those people who are my family today.

2. If you could have any job at Pennsic, what would it be?
Other than Public Safety? I’d love to try coordinating the University. I have no desire to be Mayor.

3. Why live where it snows?
Because, while snow is a pain to move and deal with – it very rarely destroys homes. Hurricanes, tornados, earthquakes do. I live in a area of the country that gets enough precipitation that I don’t have to worry about wild fires.

4. Outside the SCA, what's your biggest time-suck?
Hmmm. I crochet. I love to read. And probably also the puppy. Our weekly visits to the nursing home, our walks and general play time take up a lot of my time too.

5. How did knowing Morghun change your life?
Wow. Um… Morguhn was the solid male influence in my life for my twenties. But not a father figure. Through him I learned a lot. When I was growing up I was taught that the end goal is the important thing: Straight A’s; Blue ribbons at the county fair in 4-H; perfection. You did what you did to get the acknowledgement at the end. Morguhn helped me learn that it’s not the goal that matters. It’s not the cookie or the award. It’s the doing the job itself. There is no such thing as perfection and it’s futile and stressful to try to only achieve that. He also helped me learn that I matter. Me. Tina. Ekat. I actually matter.

If you are outwitted by the plastic wrap on your lunch cup-o-soup...

you might just need a nap.
