Nov. 22nd, 2009 06:10 pm1. You talk about not having the money you need a fair bit, but also certain other things that I would find to be "extras". What are your guilty pleasures that you can not live without? Hmm. I've cut back on a LOT of my frivolous spending. Even putting off things that I think I need to spend money on (new glasses for one). But what guilty pleasures that I can not live without? I think I would have to say it's my cable TV and internet. I know I could survive just fine with regular tv and no internet but I live alone. The TV is most often the only "Human" voices I will hear on weekends or after work. It makes the house not feel empty. Though books are up there, but I recently got a library card. Now I just have to use it.
2. If you could work at any job you wanted, what would it be? Growing up I always wanted to be Dian Fossey or Jane Goodall. I wanted then and would still love to do photo journalism for Nat Geo.
3. Why the pets that you have? Let's see. I got Miss Alex (full name Alexandra Anastasia)(the older Ginger cat) because my cat at the time was lonely and needed company. She was Nicodemus' cat. Tzar came along because Nicky was diagnosed with jaw cancer and I knew that he was not long for the world. I wanted to make sure Alex would not get lonely so I got Tzar Attila. Unfortunately Tzar was 6 months old and Alex was 6 years. She wanted to be left alone and did not appreciate a hyperactive child pestering her. So once Tzar got fixed, I took him to the pound I got him at, along with proof of neutering and used my neutering deposit for him to get him a kitten. He picked out Talia Christine. That's how I ended up with 3 cats. The Grimm Nikolai came when I had been living in the Doma for a few months and had a sudden and overwelmingly strong feeling of "I need a dog". I talked with the girls and we came up with a list of breeds we agreed on (though none of us really knows how Chihuahuas ended up on that list). Found out then that a co-worker's mother bred chihuahuas and had just had a litter. That litter had Grimm and Mr. Darcy in it. So I feel that as far as the dog goes - he was meant to be mine
4. If one of those TV shows were to come in and "do stuff" to your house, what would you want them to do? Right now I want one of those Kitchen makeover shows to redo the kitchen. It's dated, appliances are old and work only moderately and I HATE HATE HATE HATE the cream and gold textured linoleum floor.
5. You could have one of the following, at no cost to you: maid, cook, driver, groundskeeper. Which do you pick (or another I haven't thought of) and why? oh simple - groundskeeper. I hate doing lawn work. Mostly because of my allergies. But if I could have a groundskeeper (especially one who came with his own power lawnmower and snowblower) I might stop being "that neighbor" that only mows and stuff when everyone else on the street has done it and giving me looks.
