Nov. 6th, 2012 09:40 amDear lord that was a nightmare. I got to my polling place 3 minutes after 6am. They were just plugging the ballot readers in. On top of that they redistricted my town so no one knew what their "new number" was because apparently it was some tiny number on the polling place reminder they sent 2 months ago. You had to walk past (and sometimes stand right behind them - close enough to look over their shoulder if you were that type of person) everyone sitting and filling in their ballots to get to 4 tables to figure out that you were in the wrong line because the person with the "verify what new district you are in" book was at those tables instead of by the door you walked in.
I miss the antiquated voting machines. The paper ballots were ripping or next to impossible to get out of the ballot book to give to the voter and one of the readers jammed by 6:10 and they couldn't figure out how to unjam it and you could only put your ballot in the machine associated with your district so people were standing there very frustrated and I heard several say they may just rip their ballot up at that point.
But I voted, and now I can get on with my life.
