2021 Reading Challenge: A book with an oxymoron in the title

Unfamiliar Familiars: Extraordinary Animal Companions for the Modern Witch by Megan Lynn Kott

When it comes to Witches' familiars, there are your well known ones - cats, crows, rats, the occasional dog. But there are lots of other animals that make for better Familiars for the modern witch. Why not have a Capybara, or a Tardigrade or a Swarm of Bees? Each has their own unique way to enhance magic.

I don't know what to say about this book other than a giggled my whole way through. At 96 pages (half of which are pictures), it was a very quick read that was just fun. In fact I read part of it to my family this evening over our bi-weekly zoom dinner.

I don't even know how to categorize this except maybe "reference book" but not sure if fiction or non-fiction.

Regardless. it was fun and I recommend for those that are looking for alternate options in life.
