Pride and PrejudicePride and Prejudice by Jane Austen

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

There is a reason this is a classic.

I'm not going to bother relating the story. At this point, the story is so familiar to be iconic. Many stories have been written as reimaginings. People know the names Mr. Darcy and Ms. Bennett

I will say I had been reluctant to read/lead this book. I have seen many movie adaptations of this book and frankly did not like any of them. But after having read several reimaginings I figured it was time to bite the bullet and read the original. Or rather listen to the unabridged audiobook.

The reader was wonderful and I honestly think she's what kept me so engrossed. I still will not be running to read more Austen, this book did not turn me away.

Honestly, I can't really tell you the premise behind this book other than... "communication, it's gonna be big someday". Characters upset with other characters because of perceived non-existent things. Secret upon secrets keeping people from being happy.

I picked up this book thinking, based on the title it would work for a reading challenge (Book that takes place in a restaurant) and it only marginally works so I am not going to use it. Also, it has a pretty cover. I did not know it was the third in a series. Frankly, not enough happened for me to really care at all to want to read the first two.

I hate to say it but this book will be finding it's way into the donation pile.
