Nora Shore is a 26 year old crime fiction novelist. She has a life she enjoys. She owns her own flat in London, runs to keep in shape and more importantly - is able to live the loner life. But waking up in the hospital, bruised and batters with a police officer sitting outside her room makes her struggle to remember what happened.
Slowly things start coming back to her...
Out of the blue she gets an e-mail inviting her to the hen's party weekend get away for her childhood best friend - a friend she has not spoken to in 10 years. Even stranger is that she was not invited to the wedding itself.
But after talking to her friend Nina (a mutual friend with the bride), despite reservations, she agrees to go. But what she thinks will be a moderately awkward weekend becomes down right uncomfortable with the way she finds herself treated by the Maid of Honor AND then learning that Clare (the bride and former BFF) is marrying Nora's ex-boyfriend who broke Nora's heart.
As things start coming back to her Nora remembers that someone died at the party and she begins to realize that she's being looked at as the primary suspect and she has to get her memory working to safe herself.

I got this book in a "blind date with a book" at the bookstore. I would totally not have picked up this book otherwise. I am just not much of a modern mystery/crime thriller person. I can see how others would very much enjoy this book. It took me two attempts to get past the 4th chapter (they are not long chapters).
Many reviews I have looked at for this book say it was scary and suspenseful and edge of your seat. Can't say I felt that way.
All in all, for me it was an OK book. Your views may vary.
