On Christmas Eve, Harley's cow gave birth. Normally this would not have been a big deal. But this calf was different. His markings clearly showed the face of Jesus Christ. Not wanting to cause a ruckus in his small rural town, he does everything possible to keep the calf hidden, despite the recommendations of his best friend, Billy.
But due to a turn of events, word gets out and the small town becomes the focus of media, entrepreneurs and faithful. Life gets more and more interesting for a man and a town who just want the quiet life.

I found this book to be a fun vignette look at life in rural America, a satirical look and review of faith and capitalism.
I really enjoyed the author's use of words and turns of phrases. While I do not think I will ever return to this book again, it was enjoyable and I would recommend to others.
FYI: I do not have a single favorite author, but two authors I enjoy are quoted on the back jacket - Christopher Moore and Julie Schumacher
