On September 11, 2001 the United States implemented a "No entry" for all airplanes after the attacks on the World Trade Center, Pentagon and the failed attempt on the Capitol. Many of the planes from Europe were diverted to Canada. One town that took in many of those transatlantic planes was the small town of Gander, Newfoundland.
The members of this town proved that Canada, especially Newfoundland, is populated by some of the nicest people in the world. They came together, opened their homes, their stores and did everything possible to help the stranded people.

I was introduced to the Broadway Musical "Come From Away" in 2022, and when my sister told me there was a book that the musical was based on, I had to read it and I am very glad I did.
I HIGHLY, HIGHLY recommend.
