at roughly 3pm today we took mom off the ventilator. This was in accordance with her wishes. She was given a morphine drip and O2 and allowed to let nature and the Divine take it's course.
Terri and I met with a different funeral home that is run by a man my father had known through Rotary. They are not only saving us several hundred dollars but are willing to work with us and wait for the estate to clear.
One hour ago I got the call from the hospital to let me know that mom was at rest.
I want to thank everyone for their thoughts, prayers and advice through the last 6 days. People I barely know or do not know at all have come forward with offers to help in a multitude of ways and I have found myself speachless at the outpouring.
Calling hours will be this weekend (Most likely Friday night and Saturday night) with the memorial service after the second calling hours. In lieu of flowers we are asking you make a donation instead to the Leiukemia Society or the Parkinson's Association. My mother lost family (her sister to Leiukemia and my father to Parkinson) and would much rather funds go to help in the research against these two diseases.
Once I have full details about the times of the services I will post them. Meanwhile you may contact

But know mom is at peace and painfree and now with both her parents, her sister and her husband.
Rest well Mom.
