Have you ever looked at your full and overloaded bookshelves, filled with books you have and have not read and sighed thinking "I have nothing to read"?

Books

Yes, I have... more times than I even want to think about. That is generally why I get more books...some of which I actually read. Actually, I think the books are starting to breed like rabbits. I'm sure that when I go into the study there are more books there than there were the day before....

yup

over, and over, and over, and over.

'cause I don't want to read any of *those* books, I want to read something that feels *just right*, and scratches *this* itch over here, and maybe that I've read before but not recently, so I get the yummy feeling of things coming together in the plot without necessary remembering *exactly* what's going to happen...

It's why, any time I really enjoy a book and know that I'll want to read it again, I buy it. I'm more likely to buy books that I've already read then ones that I haven't, unless I'm Absolutely Sure that I'm going to want to read them over and over. My goal is be able to think "hmmm, I'm in the mood for..." and then get it off the shelf.

Of course, the fact that I am in New York and over half of my library is in Maine...complicates that ambition somewhat.

All the freakin time.

The worst is when you get a half chapter into a book, and then decide "You know... Im really not in the mood for this kind of book."

This happens more often than I would like, mostly because I tend to pick up whole series at a time. YOu get through book four, grab book five, read the first chapter and think. "YOu know... this looks good, but I think I need to try something else". Then you stand in front of your bookshelf staring at books. Then you rummage through the bags of books that sit at the foot of your bed from the last time you hit the book store. Then you go back to the bookshelf and repeat the process till something jumps out and slaps you.
