The rose conversation

me: what is this? (holds up thing to examine)
self: a dried rose
me: I can see that. Why do we have it?
self: because we got roses and we wanted to remember it
me: OK... who gave us the roses?
self:.... Ummmmmmm
me: You're telling me we have carted this bit of dried nature through at least 3 apartments and you can't remember who gave it to us?
self: Hold on, I'm thinking. Ummmmm
me: Right. Garbage. (said dried rose bit goes away)
me: what is this? (holds up thing to examine)
