Yep it's a Wednesday
Jan. 30th, 2008 10:55 amFirst of... we are ok. Wind gusts of between 40-70mph since about 2:30 last night. I was able to sleep through it until 3:30 when the wind got so bad that it caused the plastic on the two windows in my bedroom and the window in the en suite bath to pull free and started whistling. At first I thought it was Grimm whining but then realized it was the wind.
4:50am lost power briefly. Then at 5L40 it went out again and stayed out. I did get up in time to get ready for my 9:30 interview. This is the only time you will probably hear me say that I was glad my car was parked in the driveway and not in the garage as I would not have been able to get out otherwise.
Made it to my interview on time. It was with a staffing agency but they have what sounds like the perfect job for me. Exec. Assistant for the Owner/CEO of a trucking company out of Lockport. Absolutely everything they need I've done and actually kinda like doing. AND their salary range is between $4-$9K more than my minimum starting requests.
I got home after the interview and power was back on.
My request to all... if it's snowing and you are driving in white-out conditions...TURN ON YOUR DAMN LIGHTS! Especially if you drive a light colored car. It seemed that all the dark cars you could see had their lights on and all the white and gray cars didn't. Not fun driving.
Anyway, I'm going to curl up under blankets, drink tea, have soup and stay warm today. With a wind chill of -26ºF out there, I don't plan on going out again today.
