Answer: Taliesen actually presented himself shortly after my father died. When I discovered dad had Cancer, a black jackal muse entered my head and stayed for a while. He's still around but not prominent. He was kind of a City of Angels-like death angel that brought a lot of comfort to me.
Taliesen came into my head shortly after dad died and his spirituality and odd cheerfulness I think was needed at the time and he still inspires me on many levels spiritually, artistically, etc. He sort of came to me like an angelic icon and stuck around.
*edit* this is also why I can't just look at him as JUST a character. He is in every way shape and form a muse.
