I liked the concept more than the execution.

"They caught Number One in Malaysia.
Number Two in England.
And Number Three in Kenya.
They killed them all.

I am Number Four.

I am next."

I really like the idea of Extraterrestrials hiding on Earth. It took me a while to get into the story. Mainly because it was written in first person present tense (one of my least favorite ways to tell a story). Not to mention it hit quite of the few tried and tired YA story tropes available and seemed to place them all in the first half of the book. Now add to it the fact that the reader (I did the audiobook version) could not do many different voices, though bless his heart he tried, so if they were not the characters of John or Henri, they were all nasally (for males) or airheaded and whiny (for the females).

Having now read the book and seen the movie (neither one were spectacular ), I do not think I will be looking to continue the series. Honestly do not care enough about the characters to see what happens next.
