I picked up this book because I needed to read a "dystopian" book and I figured post zombie uprising would be great. That being said, if you are going into this book thinking you are going to be dealing with a society so severely changed by the zombies that it is no longer really recognizable from our own... walk away now.

This is not "The Walking Dead" 20 years later. Society still has electricity, cell phones and the internet. We have not dissolved into a world of chaos where every waking moment is a constant fear of the living dead. In fact, other than having to have multiple blood tests to check your viral count and having lost parts of the country/world to the zombie packs, not a whole lot has changed.

Yes, the world has taken to reading professional bloggers for real news instead of the general news media. But given that the bloggers are the ones that were telling about the original outbreak first, while the legitimate news media was denying it, that's not that hard to believe.

Yes, zombies exist. But they are a periphery. Just something you have to deal with. Don't poke the dead things and you'll more or less be fine. Unless someone causes an outbreak, then you are dealing with weaponized zombie-ism and terrorism.

So as such, I would not go so far as to call this a Dystopian or even Zombie book. Instead, I would more classify it as a political intrigue as the story follows a team of professional bloggers as they are asked to join and follow a Presidential candidate as he campaigns and record the good and bad. There is good. And when there's bad... there's BAD. You get to see human interactions, reactions and dealing with fall out. There are lines and quotes that made me laugh. There were scenes that made me start to tear up.

I found myself really enjoying this book, once I got past that it was not really a zombie book. And if I could give it half stars, I would give it a 4.5. It's not quite a 5 but close.
