More of a 3.5 star rating.

I discovered the author earlier in the year with one of his other series, which I enjoyed. When I saw he wrote a book about what happens when the Player Characters leave and the Non-Player Characters are left standing around the tavern in a Role Playing Game, I was intrigued. As someone who has played her fair share of both tabletop and online RPGs, I just had to read.

I liked the story, despite it being a bit different than what I expected. I expected the tale of the NPCs and their lives, which get constantly interrupted by random strangers bumbling their way through things. Instead it's the NPC's picking up the quest that was started and they keep going as the Player Characters would have. This causes the game itself to change, indicating that the game is its own universe that keeps getting interfered with by ours when we play the game.

All in all it was a fun story that I might just keep up with, and if you are someone who plays RPGs I think you'd like it too.
