waste of my time!
Mar. 13th, 2006 08:37 pmHave I mentioned that I hate Dentists? Burning, seething passionate hate. They are one of the health practitioners that to me I can't make sense of. I like to see what you are doing. Why you are doing it and communicate with you while you are "healing" me.
Even chiropractors are cool. While I can't "see" physically what is being done I can "see" it anyway. I can still talk to you while you are doing what you are doing and find out why and how and stuff. (total tangent... I miss Dr. Guernsey.)
Anyway, the dentist office calls today and asked if I can come in at 7:30 rather than 8:15. Duh. Who wants to begin dental work at 8:15pm? So I go. I get there at 7:32pm and... have to wait. I dont' end up getting into the exam room until 8:15 anyway.
Dental tech comes in and starts saying that they want x-rays of... and I point to the last tooth that needs work (bottom right back molar). Dental tech blinks and says "no not #31, 18 and 19." um.. "No we did that the last time I was here". Dental tech says "there's a note there is sensitivity". Me "yeah... when we first did the work. They hurt. Pennicillan and pain killers... all better. The last one we need to do is the back bottom right molar." Dental tech looks at the notes 'says here root canal". "Me... yeah that's what the Doc said 4 months ago when I was here last." Dental tech "let me get x-rays to double check"
So I endure the annoying pain of molar xrays.
Doc comes in "31 needs an xray". Geee.... no kidding. "I have to refer you out, we don't do them in the office"
HUH?!?!? WTF?!?!?! EXCUSE ME?!?!?!?!
Why was this not mentioned FOUR FUCKING MONTHS AGO? Why didn't you give me the referal then when I could have called over the last 4 months to get it done and over with. It's not like this root canal is a sudden surprise. It was one of the worst teeth in my mouth when I came in over a year ago to begin the long process of getting my mouth back into healthy shape.
So I went in, not feeling well, tired, cranky, crampy and bitchy to find out that this could have been done... did I say... FOUR FUCKING MONTHS AGO.
When I went out I looked at the receptionist/secretary chick that I refused to pay for the visit. I'd pay for the xray but for the actual office visit I refused to pay for as it was a waste of my time that could and should have been done when I was in FOUR FUCKING MONTHS AGO.
Yeah... perfect way to end the day.
