The Library of Lost and Found by Phaedra Patrick
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

******
Martha Storm is the quiet one who cannot say no when someone asks her for help. Always putting others before herself. Now in middle-age she finds herself alone in the house she inherited from her parents after spending 15 years taking care of them after letting her own happiness and the man she loves go on the back burner. Her only joy is the volunteer work she does as the library, and despite being repeatedly turned down for a full time paid position there, she still goes because she loves books.
One evening while at the Library, she find an package with her name on it leaning against the door. inside is an old damaged book with an inscription to her from her grandmother. The thing is... her grandmother had died 3 years prior to the date written in the book.
This mystery causes her to start investigating the book and revealing secrets that her family had kept from her... secrets that could have changed her life had she known about them.
Her journey of discover causes Martha to question her past, her family and herself and perhaps discover who Martha Storm really is.
*******
I picked up this book because a couple years ago I read the book The Curious Charms of Arthur Pepper by this author and really enjoyed it. This book did not disappoint. When I was a contemporary and personal self discovery story, I will certainly return to her books.
