Queenie & the Krakens by Aleera Anaya CeresMy rating: 3 of 5 stars
2.5 but I rounded up.
Naomi Queen swore to herself that she would never get mixed up with a Motorcycle Club. But that's hard to do when the small Caribbean island she lives on is crawling with them.
But she does her best, until she's collecting research samples and comes across a bunch of club members murdering someone. She escapes, but not before getting attacked and seriously injured. She's found unconscious by a different motorcycle club member and brought back to their headquarters.
From there she gets tangled up into a world she swore she would never get involved in, all while trying to keep her past a secret and stay alive in the present.
++++
This shifter reverse harem book was OK. I easily guessed why she was avoiding MCs - I mean it was pretty obvious to me.
I liked that the main female character is a woman of color on top of being a shifter herself. I liked that she was a badass who held her own.
But I honestly did not feel the chemistry between the characters. The spicy times were decent, but not earth shattering - mainly because again no real chemistry to me.
I am glad this book was through Kindle Unlimited trial so I didn't spend anything on it.
