Invisible No More: Police Violence Against Black Women and Women of Color by Andrea RitchieMy rating: 5 of 5 stars
When most people hear the words “Police Violence” the image that usually comes to mind is Rodney King, or George Floyd. But seldom thought about and even less discussed, especially in the media, is the idea of police violence on women. And even further ignored is police violence against BIPOC and LGBTQ+ women of color. This book looks at this phenomenon and brings to light what is oft times ignored and swept under the proverbial rug.
++++
It has been a very long time, if ever, that I have been moved to such extreme rage by a book’s subject. This was an emotionally draining book that I was very glad I read.
I fully admit that throughout the entirety of this book, I found myself muttering to myself “What the F*** is wrong with white men?”
