First DNF of 2024

Slumber by J.L. WeilMy first DNF of 2024.
I was intrigued by the concept. In 2016 a strange mist envelopes the world, killing or changing life and the Earth itself. 16 year old Charlotte succumbed to the mist and fell asleep. She is awoke 100 years later to find that the world she knew has changed and she needs to figure out how to survive.
Cool take on the Sleeping Beauty story.
I got 33% into the book and found myself HATING the FMC. Despite having to have been rescued multiple times from things that would kill her, despite being told over and over again how the world is not what she knew, she just keeps doing what she wants.
Maybe it's my age (significantly older than 16), but frankly I just could not stomach any more of the book and I no longer remotely cared if she found out if her family survived, if she gets the hot savior MMC, or anything. In fact when she finds herself in danger again, I was actively hoping she'd get killed or at least seriously injured. That was the sign it was time to declare the story a DNF.
