My rating: 4 of 5 stars
3.5 but rounded up.
Allison Wright received a package in the mail addressed to Allison W. A beautiful diamond necklace with the only note asking for forgiveness. Puzzled, she checks the deliver address and realizes it is an address a few buildings down the road. When she goes there to deliver it, she learns that that Allison is on a leave of absence.
Through a twist of fate she gets hired on with the company as a consultant to help launch a high charity auction that the other Allison was working on. Through that she meets Dash, a handsome and charming, and rich author who sweeps her off her feet but brings out the dark side of her boss.
While dealing with her feelings, Allie works to find out what happened to Allison W and what caused the mysterious sender to ask for forgiveness with such an expensive gift.
+++++
Intriguing story, mid-level spice. I found myself speculating who the mystery gifter is but not yet sure what happened to Allison.
The frustration level - it ended on a BIG cliffhanger and the book is not available either through Kindle Unlimited or Audible Plus (which is where I found the book to begin with) and it's not available through my library.
If book two becomes available I will read it, but not enough for me to actually spend $$ to own.
