I have a scribal assignment. Grant level.
I'm toying with Italian White Vine style or maybe something from the Visconti Hours. No the recipient is not Italian but that's what I'm leaning towards.
But my general question is... what style do you like in scrolls? (technical terms not needed)
Color me curious

I've seen one done where the vines were gilded with silver and with time, the silver tarnished and turned black. It looked really cool and one of these days I want to try and do that.

I hate fussy borders (surround style). Doesn't matter if it's Italian, French, Celtic, German, Russian...yuck.
