Another firefly drabble

I don't normally go for shipping. But this little ficlet sprang upon me today so I had to write it

Title: Oh Captain

She’d seen many a man without his shirt on before that moment. Some were pleasant memories, others… well those were best left tucked away into the past.

But this was the first time she had seen him shirtless. She hadn’t expected her own reaction. The lean body, ripcord muscles firm under the skin, signs of a hard life, signs of struggle and survival etched over every inch of his exposed flesh.

Was it getting hot in here or was it just her? No it was the air. Definitely the air.

That was her story and she was sticking to it.

I couldn't get inspired for the "earth" challenge. I'll write it someday if anything suddenly springs forward. I suspect next week will be "fire" and I already have a few ideas for it. We'll have to see.

I love the drabble challenges. I'm a member of the firefly 100 word challenge community and the anita blake 100 word one. I think I am still part of the Highlander one but I have't written in that universe in a while. depsite having several unfinished fics that I need to someday dust off and finish.

I had been on one of the Harry Potter ones, as well. I can't write them for a darn but they're fun to read.

It's neat because of the challenge to write a self-enclosed story, to an extent, in 100 words. They're quick to read, fun and clever.
