Tzar the big brave warrior
Dec. 18th, 2005 09:31 amI'm not feeling to hot. Between having had dental work last week that I had to spend three and a half days fighting to get pain killers for and they yesterday getting caught outside without a hat, scarf, earmuff or gloves for an hour, my melon's not doing so well. it feels heavy and ready to explode.
I'm taking my penicillin and zycam so do not fear for me. But that is not the reason for this post.
Last night I had gone to bed early. Well I went to bed but watched TV until the end of "Meet the Santas" on the Hallmark Channel. Movie ends, I turn off the light, take off the glasses, snuggle in with Miss Alex pressed against my shoulder and drift off to sleep.
Then suddenly.... BANG, SLAM, SQUEEEEEEEEEK.
I sit up, grab the glasses and look around. Squeeeek? I look at Alex and Talia (who had just joined us for bed time), they look at me and the bedroom door. The a fuzzy dark figure slinks into the room. It was Tzar and he appeared to be carrying something and he's acting funny, even for the Frat Boy that he is.
I finally turn on the light and there he is standing there with... a very very large mouse in his mouth.
Now, Ekat don't do rodents. Not ones with tails anyway. Gimme a cute little chinese dwarf hamster, even a guinea pig and I'm ok. I dont' like mice and rats. (TT is an execption and even then it takes work on my end). So of course the last thing I want is the Brave Hunter (tm) to drop the thing in the bedroom. I have flashbacks of Nicodemus' first kill and him dropping it on me in bed. That ain't gonna happen again.
So thus begins the "chase tzar around the house to get the rodent" game. Up and down the stairs, through the living room, into the pantry, into the kitchen, back up the stairs and into the bathroom. Finally get him cornered in the bathtub, and using a walmart bag as a glove, manage to pull the thing out of his mouth. I'll spare you, dear readers, of the sound the mouse made... yeah it was still alive.
got it all wrapped up in the bag and made my way to the front door, while trying not to get tripped by Brave Hunter, and relase the thing outside.
Much praise and snuggling occured to encourage Tzar in the protection of the home. Afterall he is the man of the house.
Based on the fact that he's been camped out in front of the kitchen sink cabinet, my guess is the thing made it's way through a hole there. I'll check later today when I clean up the kitchen to see if I can find the hole and figure out a way to get it closed up.
But I wanted to share my pride in my handsome boy, my beautiful Frat Boy, and how he saved our home from the evil nasty rodent.
