1. Highlander- Methos. Handsome, cynical, dry-wit. And all the man really wants is to be left alone so he can continue to just live his life. Though to be fair, my second favorite is Kronos. I love bad boys.
2. Firefly - Jayne. I have a deep love of bad boys who try really hard to be good. Jayne can't be anything other than himself and hates when people point out that he's a good guy. But in a fight, I'd want him covering my back.
3. Buffy The Vampire Slayer - Spike. As Knighthawkrp said... it's a good bet if the character is sarcastic, male and has an accent. He like Jayne has grown and tries to do good.
4. Anita Blake Vampire Hunter - Asher. Oh the Pathos. Oh the self indulgent agony. He's also mysterious. Love him. Though Edward is a VERY close second. He's a killer to the core and makes no bones about wanting to kill the monsters
5. Queer Eye for the Straight Guy (changed due to double entry) - Jai. Oh come on, who couldn't find a cute, little, mixed race gay guy who knows culture, music and art?
6. The Riftwar Saga - Nakkor. Comic relief. 'nuf said. Want an orange?
7. The West Wing - Sam Seaborne or CJ Craigg. Sam is the handsome smart boy next door who really wants to do the right thing. CJ is loyal to her people, has a firey temper... and besides a 6 foot + woman who looks good in Vera Wang.
8. Star Wars - Han. In case you haven't sense the trend yet. Bad boy who does good. And Harrison Ford is hot.
9. Winnie the Pooh - Eeyore. I have an unnatural obsession for the little grey donkey. He's pessimistically optimistic.
10. Undercover Blues - Muerte. Stanley Tucci is the boom. Comic releif at the finest. If you have never seen this move, you are massively missing out.
11. The Series of Unfortunate Events - Sunny aka the baby. She's smart, even if she can't talk. She works hard and protects her siblings as best she can.
12. The In Death Series - (not guessed) Delilah Peabody. Originally I liked Roarke. But when Peabody joined the series she won first place. Throughout the series she has grown as a character. Plus she's tough, sarcastic, has a kinky side she's just learning about and has great comments
13. Tales from the Nightside - Suzie Shotgun. She doens't pretend to be anything other than what she is. This is another series of books that if you've never read - read! By Simon R. Greene.
14. M*A*S*H - Hawkeye. I'm not sure why people thought Radar but it's Hawkeye hands down. Fiercely loyal, protective, passionate, sarcastic.
15. The Coldfire Trilogy -Gerald Terrant - Bad boy who one can argue was actually a good guy trying to do what he needed to to continue to do good. Yes he killed his wife and kids to get the power necessary to carry on with his work. But sometimes sacrifices have to be made
16. Labrynth - Jared. Though Ludo was another close one. David Bowie in tights. Need I say more?
17. How the Grinch Stole Xmas (Suess not Jim Carry) - Max the dog. Loyal and endures so much for his master. and he's just adorable
18. Harry Potter - Mad Eye Mooney. (Lupin was a close second) I have a fondness for the insane but well written character. *shrug*
19. Farscape - Aeryn Sun. She's a product of her upbringing and culture who has had to endure being denied all she knew and forced to learn to be her own person, that what she was raised to believe might not be right and that it's ok to have feelings. And again... she's one hot babe with a gun.
20. Sandman - Death. She's the most "human" of the Endless. Maybe because she has to be mortal one day every century. She has fun for fun's sake, not because it will hurt someone or because she's insane. She has moods that are realistic and understandable.
