So I double check...

And while the community garage sale is next week it is actually THURSDAY, FRIDAY AND SATURDAY.

What morons make a garage sale on TWO work days?

But thinking back, when mom did it a couple years ago she said that most of her big sales were on Thursday.

So I've put in for change of schedule and time off for next week so I can have Thursday and Friday off.

Need to see if I can borrow tables from people.

Anyone local got a card/camp table I can borrow?

Anyone local want to come keep me company on Thursday and Friday during the day?

After work I headed out to the Doma. I know, I know, big surprise.

Anyway, as I was driving up the street I spot two of my neighbors outside....

Backstory: in order for us to put the Doma in mine and my sister's names we need to have an Abstract of Title for the property. This is a document that traces the history of the property back to original owners. I have been unable to find the one for the Doma. Found the mortgage stuff and the like, but not the Abstract. A new one costs between $700 and $2,000 to have run. BUT my lawyer says that if we can get a copy of a neighbor's he can run one off that and it would be only a couple hundred. Prior to today I had already talked to 4 of my neighbors and none of them had theirs.

Back to today. I see Mr. Farley out front working on his lawn and Mr. Frisch chatting with him. So after parking I mosey down two houses and go chat with them. They are both ones I hadn't asked yet and was actually reluctant to as they had both been living on the street longer than we had and if the newer neighbors didn't have their abstracts... why would they.

But Mr. Farely came through!!! I asked if when they had a chance could they see if they had theirs and could I borrow it for a day to make a copy at some point. Mrs Farley and Frisch come out and I start chatting with them and Mr. Farley goes inside. Two minutes later he comes out and hands me their Abstract of Title.

Tomorrow I go and make a copy so I can return it right away and then I'll contact the lawyer to start the headache of transfer of property.

On a side note got stuff moved out into the garage today. One of the computer desks, the hospital bed table, the Childcraft encyclopedia set, and one rubbermaid tub of records. I do not see the LPs selling really well. My father had a weird ass taste in music that I do not see selling. Johnnie Mathis, Lots of soundtracks to movies. I even found an unopened 1976 Robert Goulet album. Of course the ones that would probably sell, i only seem to have the jackets for not the actual records. (Like Johnny Cash "behind bars")

Tomorrow, if Dicea comes out to help I will get another bit of furniture out to the garage and haul more LPs out of the basement. The records are time consuming as I have to go through and make sure that the album in the jacket matches.

Have to box up the world book encyclopedia. I'm still debating keeping the Encyclopedia Britannica that I have.

Need to start boxing up drinking glasses as well. I know I'm making progress. Rationally I know this. Emotionally it feels like I haven't even scratched the surface and I will never be done.

Maybe what I need to do is actually get the garage clear and organized and start setting up for the sale so that it looks like I've done something rather than using the garage as a storage shed.
