redemption

I left work at 4:30 today so that I could be at the Doma for the new carpet measuring guy. He said between 5 and 7. And having been disillusioned once already I was figuring closer to 7.

Well I pull into the driveway at 5:09 (late due to an accident on the expressway slowing things down) and ...

HE WAS THERE WAITING FOR ME!!!!

After measuring twice to make sure he had the numbers right, he looked things over and said "I have you down for the 26th. 9:30am OK with you?"

I blink ... and agree. So I ask, how long will installation take so I know how much time I have to finangle from the boss. He said... get this..

ONE HOUR. He has a team of 4 guys and my room should take no more than an hour and that's mostly due to cutting and piecing.

I'm stunned.

Boogie was right. I should have gone to them first. Saved the hassle.

Mea culpa.

But... if this continues... my birthday present to myself will be a new carpet in the master bedroom.

I'm actually stoked.
