Stress has become my state of being.
At work we have a big meeting on the 16th with representatives of some potential BIG investors. We need to put together all kinds of paperwork to prove we are a legit company, our long range forecasts and all that stuff.
Now, we knew the date of their visit back on the 30th. The majority of the data collection falls on me. Well what falls on me is the pestering, hounding and bothering the people who have the stuff I need to give me said data. And of course since the day we got the due dillegence list and stuff, the method of presentation of this data has changed at least 3 if not 5 times.
Two days ago, one of the people I have been bothering, incidentally the one who I need the most stuff from outside of my big boss, looks at me and says "Hey Tina, did you know they are coming next week? As in a week from today?" I looked at him and informed him that I was very aware of the deadline and that was why I was after him to get me this stuff.
That same day my big boss says he may need a flight to the Middle East to make a meeting on Saturday. I blink but nod and start contacting my people to see what I can put together in such short notice. That afternoon he then says that he won't be going after all. Small sense of relief.
Yesterday I get into work and am told that big boss does indeed need a flight and therefore needs to be on planes that day. I drop everything and pull my magic and get him on a plane out of Toronto to London to his destination. I get him booked into hotels and all is good. He gets out of the office.
Then the only printer in the front office dies. But see, not only is this the only printer in the front, it is the company's only fax machine and scanner. I spend then the better part of the rest of the day arguing with HP that we have a warrenty as the thing is less than 4 months old and if it's broken we are eligible for a replacement and we do not want a refurbished machine but a new one.
I actually had to snap at my office mate because at 3 he asked me to do something and I demanded 5 minutes to bolt down some lunch. It wasn't until 5:30 (my normal leaving time) that I actually got to do some of the stuff I needed to get done for the day.
Now though, I get to deal with the onslaught of texts from Big Boss about things he needs me to do for him from here. Today at work is clean up the office and production area to make it all nice for the clients.
This weekend is coronation. While I have people coming in, I still don't know if I will be able to go to the event. Sunday I definitely have to go into the office after the guests leave to catch up on the work I didn't get done yesterday. The only upshot of that is I will get a comp day and I see a 3 day weekend in my very near future.
So, if I do make it to the event and I seem a bit.. cranky, it's not you. And please understand.
