Last night Dicea came over to help me. We got the boxes of xmas stuff down into the basement. Big task there and of itself.

Then she helped me by going around and helping me make a list of things that need to be done to help make the Doma presentable again for guests. That helped a lot. Just having another set of eyes, who is not used to seeing it all everyday and has no real emotional investment into it point out what does and does not need to be done made it easier.

After she left I managed to cross off three things from the list (not including the hour long argument with the garbage disposal).

I even got up early to get a little more done and cross off another thing.

With careful time management I should have no problem getting at least two more things done on the list tonight AND get the scroll for this weekend calligraphed.

And while there is a possibility that the guests might not be coming afterall, due to life being poopy-headed, I'm still going to do as much as I can.

Getting the house clean will help with getting the head cleared and mind back where it needs to be.

I'M BORED! Not just kinda bored. Brain numbing, fighting to stay awake bored.

I'm waiting on production distribution companies to get back to me. I'm waiting on infomercial companies to get back to me.

New boss doesn't want me to contact any others because - get this - it's making the guy who has kinda stepped into the Programming Manager slot look bad and feel bad. *blink* *blink* yeah.

I'm the operations manager. But let me tell you, that doesn't really mean anything. I still sit and answer the main phone. Which really never rings. I check the mail. I write up vouchers for bills to be paid. I deal with crisis as it pops up. But I take care of them so quickly right now that they don't really pop up.

So I sit here and try to look busy. Before lunch I sat on facebook and played bejewelled. Once the mail arrives (in about another 20 minutes) I can sit and spend the rest of my day watching Heroes.

If my desk weren't so exposed I would have brought in the scroll and sat and calligraphed it. My wording is done. I could have happily worked on it. 8 hours is PLENTY of time to do a simple baronial award scroll.

So folks, entertain me.

Every time I mop the kitchen and front hall I wonder the same thing.

What sick F*&K in the late 60's/early 70's thought that textured cream linoleum was the best thing in the world to put in a kitchen and mail hallway.
