2018 reading challenge: a children's classic you've never read

Mary Poppins by P.L. Travers

It was cute.

As someone who grew up to the Disney version, it took me a bit to get into this book and not mentally compare the characters in the books to the characters in the movie. But I totally understand why PL Travers disliked Disney and refused to authorize any further movies.

What I did like about the book is that each chapter is its own individual short story, thus I treated is almost like an anthology rather than a full story.

I was not the audience meant for this book, and to be honest I'm glad I didn't read it as a child. But I can say that i am glad I read it as an adult.
